Tips to Make Decorative Wedding Bows for Church Aisle
You can easily add a touch of elegance and style to your wedding location by making use of decorative wedding bows. The quality of decoration used to adorn a wedding venue goes a long way to make or mar the event even before it begins. One great way of using bows at a wedding event to create the right appealing effect along church aisle is to place bows at the end of each of the pews. For best effect, you should use colors and fabrics that are compatible with your chosen wedding theme colors.
Here is a simple set of instructions on how to make wedding bows to decorate your church aisle.
1. Get the material to be used to make the wedding aisle bows. Tulle, ribbon or fabrics are great fabric options. Be sure to pick the right complimentary color. Cut out two pieces from the material each measuring 9 inches wide and 3 yards long.
2. Be sure that the edges of the materials are already completed. If the edges are unfinished you would have to finish them. To do this, simply measure about one-eight of the material along all edges, pin it and them hem it together with a sewing machine.
3. Take one of the cut out materials and make a loop off to the right of its center. Wrap the side around the loop and take it through the back to make another loop. You want to do it just as you would when tying a shoe lace. Pull the loops apart so that they are as large as desired and then fasten the bow.
4. Place the second cut material just in from of the first bow you just made right at the center of the bow knot. Bunch it close to the bow in an attractive manner and wrap it around the bow knot made with the first material.
5. Tie the second cut material piece around the know of the bow at the back so that it conceals the knot of the bow and the knot made with the second material is hidden at back. Tie it in a manner to allow the ends of the second material to drop behind as long bow tails
6. Use floral wire to fasten around the center of the bow. Use the second cut out piece of material to hide the wire. Twist or tie the wire behind the bow to make it secure. You can use the wire at the back to attach the bow to pews along the church aisle.
7. You can further decorate the bow using flowers or pearls at its center. You could also create a bouquet of bows consisting of one large one and several smaller ones.
